Manchester Legal Walk 2011 - Thursday 22nd September

The Manchester Legal Walk follows a 10k route around Manchester and is open to all members of the legal community, their colleagues, family and friends.

Over the past three years, the Manchester Legal Walk has attracted around 500 walkers per year and raised in excess of £75,000 for legal charities in the North West. This year the walk raises money solely for the North West Legal Support Trust funding pro bono activities in the North West.

About the Trust

The North West Legal Support Trust is a grant-making charity formed in 2009 that aims to support charities in the North West of England.

The Trust will make grants to enable the provision of free legal advice to members of the public who would otherwise be disadvantaged, and will also support other charitable work that promotes access to justice.

The Trust will only fund not-for-profit activity, and will not support projects where the Trustees feel that LSC funding is suitable and practical within a reasonable time frame.

In writing to the trust on the website application form, with a description of the project or need to be funded. Your application should be accompanied by your most recent summary accounts, and an annual report if available.

“The organisations and agencies supported by the Trust perform a vital role in facilitating access to justice for many litigants. In these difficult times, their need for funds is all the more acute. Every donation, however modest, enables them to carry on their good work.”
